This is how our company is too. We have beautiful offices, the one I was assigned to when I started almost exactly a year ago was built in 2019 (with an open floor layout...oooh BURN! lol) I had to go in the office for my first two days as I needed to collect my equipment and get my VPN set up. The company (a F10 company) was still 100% remote, but you could go in if you wanted to at that time. They attempted to get everyone back in the office back in May 2022, but it failed miserably. Hardly anyone came back, even though we were supposed to. My company gave up and let everyone make a choice - FT office, hybrid, or FT WFH. I chose FT WFH, even though I live only 10 minutes away.

Those two days I had to spend in the office were miserable. I spoke to no one. I was sitting in an open floor plan with not a soul in sight. Never went back! All of our meetings are Teams meetings with people all over the world. Pre-Covid, I'm sure this company hardly ever had an in person meeting because it makes no sense.

Over the summer, my company weaseled out of its lease on that 2019-built building, and others. In Feb 2022, we had 6 local offices. Today, we have ONE. [/quote]
