Yup. I think we are way too far down the slippery slope to stop it, but I think in general surrogacy should be against public policy. It's a gross exploitation of another person, regardless of consent. Pregnancy and birth is absolutely more dangerous than donating a kidney. And it is in fact illegal to pay for a kidney, so your analogy doesn't make sense.[/quote]

That would be wrong. The death rate for kidney donors is 0.07%, not to mention the guaranteed permanent reduction in kidney function. The US maternal death rate is 0.02%.

Plus, people here are just flatly saying “surrogacy should be illegal.”

It is interesting that you didn’t answer as to why choice and bodily autonomy shouldn’t apply here.  Choice is good thing if you want to terminate a fetus, but not if you want to carry one to term? [/quote]
