I think Zients was one of the few kids from the middle class when he was at STA.  Also a Jewish kid when there were not many Jewish kids there. Everyone I know who knew him said he worked his rear end off and has worked hard all his days.  He apparently always wanted to buy the Marriott’s house in DC when he was a kid and then grew up and did it.  Those kinds of people should be applauded for entering government service. Your point doesn’t make what Zients is doing less of a sacrifice.  That kind of false logic is why you didn’t have a big law option.  I didn’t take that myself but it was there.
