Not to be too uptight here, but the title of this thread is "BEST BOOKS by Black Authors" so I'm quite specifically looking for titles, not just author names. Thanks. I can run a search on names just like anyone else. [/quote]

NP. I see 6 pages of excellent suggestions! Surely you can find something. My favorite is Native Son. Also like Down These Mean Streets (something different - about a black Puerto Rican growing up in NYC in the ‘30s), Autobiography of Malcolm X. [/quote]
