+1 I am also close to retirement and as of the past 5 years or so, I never recommend teaching to anyone who asks. Less money, more headaches, fewer retirement benefits for new teachers. I liked the work schedule because I have children and enjoyed having summers and holiday breaks off with them, but the rise in flexible work options makes this less of an issue now than it was when I started teaching.[/quote]
