Is this for real? My DC has similar stats from local rigorous private and applied RD as a safety. With all deferrals so far, this has me pretty stressed out. They may get rejected from an 80% acceptance rate school with a less than 50% graduation rate? [/quote]

NP. With those stats, if the student was in-state, CU Boulder would be a safety, as they let everyone in to exploratory studies, if not the desired major. I am guessing this is an out of state issue, perhaps a failure of CU's enrollment management consultant's yield algorithm, that they couldn't be bothered to predict the yield well enough to admit this student. Granted my child didn't get denied or deferred, but in JMU's defense, this is their second year on Common App.  CU should have this figured out by now. [/quote]
