I’m all for a LL comeback. But it’s distracting when a actor who we know is talented can’t act because they can’t move their face. The movie was fine, but I thought she was the weakest part of it. She seemed sad/wooden even in parts when she was supposed to be happy.
I don't think it's just a face thing. When, closer to the beginning of the movie, LL and the child walk over to the child's bed to learn the names of the dolls and stuffed animals? That scene was either terribly directed or poorly acted.
I thought her face was a little blank because she lost her memory and was a little guarded. Maybe I'm giving too much credit, but it was fine. Disappointed that there was not more singing from Overstreet. The movie lacked an over-the-top feel-good moment of revelation. Instead of giving a bland endorsement at the press conference, LiLo should have given a mini speech about how being surrounded by the warmth of the Lodge helped her understand the importance of family, Christmas, and the simple things. And Overstreet should have thanked his MIL and daughter before giving a shoutout to LiLo at the party. More cheese, please! Also what was the point of the dad throwing the press conference anyway? It would have made sense if there were search parties out looking for his daughter for days, but people barely noticed she was gone and no news media had covered it. So it only serves to make him look bad. "My daughter was missing for days and neither I nor anyone at my expensive resort realized it, but rest assured my resort is a safe place to ski"?? -home sick giving this way too much thought
