[/quote] This isn’t entirely true. The reason student loan forgiveness is necessary at all is because of the government’s predatory lending policies for decades. The money already made on high interest, unethical and exorbitant lending practices over the years (capitalizing interest for example, and not discharging at death, and refusing to pay the millions of qualified PSLF borrowers who put in their 10+ years of public service and then were denied forgiveness because the lending agencies obfuscated or flagrantly misinformed borrowers) made the lenders A LOT of money over the past 20+ years.[/quote]
