[/quote] I think it's due to life stage impacting your looks. 50s are tough for most women -- relationship upheaval, kids in their teens or college or early adulthood (so dealing either with empty nesting or the surprise of your kids needing you more than ever just when you thought you were getting a break), career stagnation due to loss of momentum and age discrimination, aging parents or parents passing and other family issues. By their 60s many people have figured this stuff out and can relax, and being relaxed will naturally make you more attractive. 40s/50s are like a kind of adolescence.
