I’m almost at my goal of 130, down from 140 (now hovering between 131-132). Not sure what I’ll do once I reach it. I’ve never been able to maintain weight loss before but this time I made very sustainable changes and the weight came off slowly (over 3 months). I think I may just keep consistent and if more weight comes off that’s fine and if not, that’s fine too. I don’t feel deprived at all and I’m loving my healthier, more mindful approach to diet and exercise. Feels good.
That's great. I'm also doing the slow and steady route. How tall are you?
I’m 5’9”. I didn’t have much to lose so the weight came off slowly and I’m good with that. I didn’t really set out to lose but to develop healthy habits that don’t involve lots of rules or restrictions. When I started to lose on this new program, albeit slowly, I took that as a sign I was a bit out of balance. I average about 1500 calories a day, more if I’m active. I eat well and walk daily. Take a yoga or dance class once or twice a week. I plan to add some resistance to help with balance and metabolism. Working on sleep and mindfulness. My energy is better and my clothes fit again. This is a great thread.
Adding clarity, I said initially that 130 was my goal but that’s not exactly accurate. That’s just the low end of the range I’ve been over the past 30 years. Also, I mentioned that I didn’t want to restrict or follow rules. But I don’t drink or eat dairy, so those may be hard rules for many.
I think you'll find most folks on this thread are not following strict rules or guidelines, no one is struggling with obesity etc , but instead, we're following what works individually.
