It’s a job. People switch jobs all the time. If you spend any time on the Jobs and Careers board there are often posts about job hopping.
Apparently people in education are not allowed to change jobs, have personal lives, take sick days....we treat teachers and admin like they owe everyone everything. News flash they don't! Their job is just like yours...a job.
+1 I don’t see it as “bailing”. The person left one job for another. Maybe it’s closer to home, or better fits the family’s schedule. Perhaps the benefits are better. Regardless of the reason, there’s really nothing to see here.
Nice try - the schools are a mile or two apart.
Isn’t Falls Church City in a different school district altogether? If so, the benefits and pay may be better.
Yes, and a pretty homogenous community in terms of SES, a PTA with $$$$, a school that is better funded and has more resources, so it's going to be a MUCH easier job. It's probably a principal's dream job, and wouldn't be surprised if they live in the community already. FCC likes to hire from within its own community. Most of the people I know that teach there also live there (we live just outside the border in fairfax county, literally our across the street neighbors are in FCC).
Pretty much none of the principals or assistant principals at FCC schools lived in FCC when they were hired and the number of teachers who live in FCC are a minority.
The Mt. Daniel principal definitely lived in FCC before he was hired- I don't know about anyone else. I know in the calendar discussions that Dr. Noonan said that a plurality of FCC teachers lived in FCC.
I don’t know many who live there. She will now have to work with Noonan. Anyone who thinks her job is easy does not know him.
This is interesting to me. I am a FCCPS parent and I find Noonan really obnoxious- and in apparent need of constant adulation from the school board and others. I had the impression, however, that he was good to work for.....
He is not easy to work for or work with. I don’t want to comment further.
