She had the same job last year. She received votes of no confidence from two employee unions. I think we have already seen the downward spiral she wants to send the school system. Everyone in Central Office spends so much time focusing on their next promotion that very little is being done to improve the education students are receiving.[/quote]

Maybe they can cut it from the MCPS Office of Communications and legal fund?
I certainly think the 2021-22 school year was an improvement over the 2020-21 school year. There are still many additional improvements to be made, absolutely, but this past year was a better year than the virtual school year.[/quote]

Agree! And the goal of keeping schools open was achieved.  Also McKnight was an interim last year not the actual Superintendent.  That comes with different authority and a different set of goals/mindset.  Seems some folks don’t know that.  Also seems some DCUM folks believe all changes and improvements can happen overnight.[/quote]

Look up her resume online.  When she took the dep position she claimed 21 years experience with MCPS.

If she doesn’t know how to run a school system properly by now, why would you let things get even worse?

Sticking with a craptastic superintendent because firing her will make it harder to find a new superintendent is exactly why the BOE should not have given Dr. McKnight the permanent job. However, the BOE could do a better job of supervising MCPS, controlling the Central Office bloat, questioning student progress, and creating grading policies to improve education till Dr. McKnight’s initial contract ends.[/quote]

I get that some people feel threatened by an AA woman in charge, but seriously just posting these assertions without any facts does everyone a disservice. So far she's done an excellent job and to state otherwise is blatant misinformation.[/quote]
