Of course you do if you're doing IVF.   They call it "family balancing" (i.e. you're not supposed to pick only the boy embryos because you prefer boys, but rather because you already have 3 girls in the family and really want that boy to complete your family.)

I'm a nobody and looked at multiple practices around the DMV and all of them told you and would let you choose. Most people go with "healthiest" but if it's a toss-up and, especially if you have other kids, you choose. [/quote]
