I’ll go first: tonight I made gooey grilled cheese sandwiches with Velveeta. Some on white bread, some on rye, some with tomatoes, some without. And canned tomato soup, and a phone-in salad. Whaddaya got, DCUM? What dinners do you make that DCUM Would NEVER?
That’s not food. I’m not a pearl clutcher but why eat like that? You could get a nice sour dough and havarti with lots of butter. At least it’s actual food. As for myself, homemade pizza.
Your mom.
No! I think I’ve just been ruined living in Los Angeles. I don’t know anyone who eats like this and I’m also not American. I have found this thread so interesting and had to Google some of the foods. I just didn’t understand why you wouldn’t want real cheese?!!! America has good cheese!!!
You think no one in LA has eaten a simple grilled cheese sandwich make with processed cheese or canned soup or a pre made salad kit? I bet all of those items are available in large supermarkets in LA. Even if they like elevated grilled cheese sandwiches, some people are occasionally nostalgic for that gooey melted Velveeta between two slices of buttered, pan toasted white bread from their childhood.
