This should be required viewing for every American.
Agree. And quite the commentary on why rural white America doesn’t trust pharma to save them - Aka vaccine resistance.
It's true. And not just distrust of big pharma, but government. In many ways the government failed to protect people - from the FDA that allowed the label (and then the guy turned around and got a 400K a year gig at the company) from the DEA and others not prioritizing a crackdown. And we wonder why there is anti-vax sentiment.
Ugh, gross. Big pharma is so so gross and I don't know how anyone can associate with it.
I just watched Dopesick this weekend, after just seeing Danny Strong interviewed by Bill Maher (who-- sidenote-- is increasingly insufferable). I was actually pretty shocked at the 400k salary. What a paltry amount of money to sell your soul for. I expected the reveal to be something upwards of a million. Also like a PP, I, too, couldn't help but think of vaccine resistance in communities which have been hit hard by the opioid epidemic. In reality, the Sacklers were murderous twice-- first with their shady practices in pumping those communities full of a dangerous drug and second by undermining the people's faith and trust in government regulators and the medical establishment.
