If my Chinese ancestors came here in the 1800s, what is my cultural background? I'm fairly certain most people would still say my cultural background is Chinese even if my family has been here for generations.

Anyway, if you have a mixed ancestry, why not pick one of your ancestors who had an interesting history and focus on that. Like, “I picked Germany because one of my ancestors came to the US in the 1840’s to avoid being drafted into the Bavarian army. I brought soft pretzels for everyone.”[/quote]
