OP can't be talking about UVA as first year enrollment hasn't started.

Wait what? UVA and other colleges have already started class registration? What schools start class registration during the summer ? The common reply date is still a few weeks away. My kids couldn’t even register for classes until after they finished freshman orientation (right before the school year started). At their colleges, upperclassmen register before freshman for the first term of the school year, but for the following term/quarter registration opens to all undergraduates at the same time.  Attending the 5-10 day orientations right after move-in was a requirement for the registration hold to be lifted. There aren’t  assigned enrollment time slots or priority registration status (aside from maybe seniors or majors in very few higher level classes). I thought all schools work the same way, but I guess I’m wrong and need to be aware of that when my younger kid goes to college  [/quote]

Ok well all upperclassmen enrolled this week so I guess the confusion is that you made the PP think that coming freshmen were enrolling this early. They are not. My kids are also rising second years and between them yes they are ok three waitlists but they will survive if they don’t get in. I do think they will however. The best way to judge that at UVA is by using Louslist to see previous years enrollment. My DD is 98th on a wait list for a class that only took 95 this week but normally enrolled over 200 in years past. You can see on lous list that they traditionally add seats on this class over the next few months. [/quote]
