In an effective classroom, it is necessary for students to be quiet at times AND engage in cooperative work while verbally communicating. BOTH are important. I think the previous poster was not saying that students today don’t know how to talk to each other. Newsflash- they do! But many lost ground on pro-social skills.[/quote]
