If tonight is a rejection (and based on the percentage of EA deferred kids who get in, that is by far the most likely outcome at this point), I am going to be annoyed [insert stronger language here].  Kid goes to a large Arlington HS, has a 3.96 GPA/4.53 wGPA, a 35 ACT, is a full IB-diploma candidate, has taken 5 AP classes plus a Dual-Enrollment class, is an Eagle Scout, a varsity athlete, and a super strong club sport athlete as well.  Other than applying ED, not sure what else he could have done.  Based on the Naviance scatterplots, it should not be a close call (nothing but green below and to the left of his spot), but I suppose we'll see in a few hours.[/quote]

In our district, all advanced academic programs are housed within (as part) of a regular HS.  So students not in the program complained (rightly so) that they have basically zero chances to be anywhere near the top of the class, as those programs allow for many more weighted classes and much earlier on.  So this year will be the first year which will have no longer rank.[/quote]
