I'm a middle school teacher, and I can't wait to get my mask off. I have parents emailing me requesting that I still enforce the wearing of masks because of special family circumstances. I feel that that's an unreasonable ask. Throughout this whole thing, I have done what the CDC says. It's time. Oh, and people who are still working from home, it's time for you, too. We've been back for over a year. You've got this.
Some of us still working from home would have happily gone back long ago, but were expressly forbidden from doing so. It's not like we're all dragging our feet. Thank you for standing up to families who think you should still enforce masking. I think it's a completely unreasonable request and inappropriate to expect individual teachers to make it, on top of everything else they're already doing. OTOH, I have a friend in NoVA whose elementary schooler's entire class is still masked at the request of their teacher, so there you go. Good times, all around.
To the PPP— and some of us still working from home will continue to that indefinitely because the flexibility suits us and we have jobs that can be done from anywhere. Don’t tell me what I need to be doing.
You are demanding others work in person to care for your kids and you aren't willing to even allow the most basic safety precautions.
You are confusing me with somebody else. I was responding to the teacher who demands that I go back to working in person because she had to. I said nothing about masking.
That is silly to demand others go back to work in an office as the more that go back to the office, the more chances to get and spread covid, to make it riskier for staff and students.
