I made this decision. Cal all the way. Brand recognition anywhere in the country is much better.
UCLA alum here. UCLA is known all over the world. Out of the country, brand name is higher than Cal. And in the country...is there anyone who has heard of Cal that has not heard of UCLA? Cal is ranked higher (I believe for historical reasons) but UCLA is harder to get into. Go where you can get in, but...a quote from some other DCUMer that is worth repeating: "No one has ever regretted going to UCLA."[/quo oof tone deaf,pp! That poor UCLA woman who was murdered last week!
top PP here. My kids went to school with that woman; I didn't go to her memorial last weekend only because my DH was sick. That murder had nothing to do with UCLA. She's a local; even if she wasn't getting her advanced degree at UCLA, she might have been working at that store.
You really are tone deaf: a) Whether or not you or your kids knew Brianna is irrelevant or whether or not you can cite to her memorial is irrevelant. b) whether or not your DH was sick is irrelvant c) Brianna was a UCLA student. period, Whether or not she's a grad student is irrelevant. d) whether or not she's local doesn't make a difference because you said "No one has ever regretted going to UCLA". Did you not see her father crying on TV? And, yes, I know the Hancock park area very well. Don't even try going there. Sometimes it is just better to shut up when you make a faux pas online.
