Hahaha this exactly. To me, all the 'designer bath items' and 'luxury linens' would have been pointless (I sweated and bled through so many hospital gowns and sheets...) - but I would've paid extra in a heartbeat for a private nurse rather than a parade of medical assistants who managed to be super-prompt with Colace but literally nothing else :P  I would also pay for a better bed but that doesn't seem to be on offer anywhere.

Inova Fairfax food was pretty good in the old building and I hear it's better now. Only issue last time was you couldn't order anything in the middle of the night (we made it to a recovery room around midnight) so aside from the fun-size Snickers I packed, I didn't get anything to eat until breakfast the next AM (36+ hours without real food) because the surrounding area doesn't have much in the way of late-night dining, either.
