NP here. I just started semaglutide yesterday and I'm really excited. I get it through a weight loss clinic. I'm titrating up from 0.25 mg to the max dose I can tolerate. So far (one day) I have had no side effects. Will keep you posted.
Which weight loss clinic? Does BCBS cover the meds for non-diabetics?
NP - I had my meds covered through BCBS via Calibrate. All insurance plans are different in what they cover. Apparently, it is difficult to get Wegovy or Ozempic covered by insurance, but they are experts at it. I pay $25 a month for meds plus $129 a month for the Calibrate coaching program (one year program). There is an awesome Facebook group that has a ton of information on the drugs and how to get them covered, side effects, etc. Some really amazing success stories too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/240752749951656/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=860363654657226
