This. Jawando is a hypocrite. Just remember the people on the current county council and their track record. What have they done for the good of the county? These are the same people who succeeded in making MCPS students less safe. They only care about themselves and their pet projects. Do we really trust them?[/quote]

+1. I’m always grateful to know others see the council for what it really is. I watched the virtual meetings about SROs. I was blown away by how biased these meetings were. Anecdotes… not data. I’ve only seen one statistic: 100% of principals wanted SROs to remain. [/quote]

I watched the meetings. I saw the “data.” I read this entire thread. The council’s argument simply wasn’t convincing. You don’t need to post anything again. Also, the opinions of principals are valuable; they know the role of the SRO and how the SROs interact with the community. Why was the council so quick to discredit them? You suggest the principals only want SROs so they don’t have to deal with student discipline. That’s merely your opinion and also doesn’t contain any facts. [/quote]

Principles do not really know what SROs are doing because they only put their best face forward for principals.
