The mom nurse is probably leaving out the social worker and/or legal consequences associated with the test results. [/quote] This. I am a nurse as well (pediatrics), and a baby with cocaine in his or her system is an automatic social work consult usually leading to CPS involvement. Just because the baby is discharged home with the mom doesn't mean that's where it ended for those families. [/quote]
