I think she’s closeted gay or asexual. Her relationship history is just too weird and unexplainable.
Please. Taylor Swift has zero reason to be closeted. If she was gay, she would not feel any shame or pressure from Hollywood. Totally ridiculous. It’s 2021.
This is demonstrably false. Her fan base is not the kind of demographic that WOULD NOT care about her sexuality. To the contrary, much of her fame—pre-country music and post country music —, is built around this image of a frail, hyper emotional, delicate, fragile , skinny, blonde ingenue who is perpetually wronged through no fault of her own by men—usually former paramours—and women , depicted as most likely jealous of her.
+1. Taylor’s public persona is hyper straight. If she is gay (I doubt it), her coming out would be celebrated by the media for about a week but her fan base would abandon her instantly.
Lots of gay men in the Taylor Swift fan base.
Lots of gay men is debatable . I seriously doubt that , if a market research was conducted on who Taylor swift fans are, that your ' lots of gay men in the swift fan base' will stand , as opposed to say, predominantly young heterosexual white women from right leaning households .
Wow I just feel this is so off. Conservatives don’t love Taylor Swift. She is 100% beloved by many young gay men. Anyway, I doubt many people would stop listening to her because of her sexuality, and even if they did, do you really think she’d care? I think you are underestimating her. Why would she pretend to be heterosexual?
Agree. These PPs acting like Taylor Swift is the same as Carrie Underwood. They are not.
Both of you pps are living in a bubble . Saying that conservatives don't love Taylor Swift is remarkably ignorant and betrays a thorough knowledge of Swift's career trajectory. Up until Donald Trump, she had the particularity of having carved a unique lane—that of being the go-to singer for the teens, tweens, and young white women in the south and middle America. Her success is owed in part to presenting herself as prim, proper and safe for the aforementioned demographics. As such , at the height of her career , you couldn't find her making any statement that even remotely sounded political . Hence, swift , unlike some of her peers never lent her star power to things like : support for gay marriage or outright campaigning for Obama à la Katy perry . It wasnt until white supremacists tried to claim her as of their own ( thanks in no small part to her white darling image ) that she initiated what can aptly be called as a split , albeit a forceful one, with those who thought she was their cultural standard bearer *wink* She denounced white supremacy, Trump, and called for people in Tennessee to not vote for Marsha Blackburn. Anyone who followed her career knows this was a tectonic shift . Carrie Underwood has never been anywhere near swift as far as fame goes. I say this as someone who isn't a fan of either one of them. I couldn't care less about her ssxuality, but to pretend that a huge chunk of the demographics that made her rich and famous won't care is to be wrapped in some pathetic bubble that can't burst soon enough. Dcum, Logan circle or Adam's Morgan are representative of a statistically insignificant part of America —culturally and demographically.
Yes, conservatives supported the first part of her career, but your logic is strained. Conservatives felt betrayed by her political statements, and by several recent songs promoting homosexuality. If you don't think those have already shifted her fan base, you are clueless. The fact that Blackburn still won should tell you something...
