Northwestern gets it name for similar reason. They did try to brand it as Just Case but that failed. [/quote] It's also because it was once two (actually three, I think -- the third was a women's college whose name was lost in the mergers) schools -- Case Tech and Western Reserve College. (PP is correct about the "western reserve" designation for that area of Ohio.) My father went to Western Reserve long, long ago, before they merged, and was very unhappy with the (now abandoned) effort to brand it as Case. In spite of his affection for the school, I did not consider it because Cleveland. In the 80s. But Cleveland is a different place now, I would encourage DD to look at Case Western Reserve should it fit her interests. [/quote]
