I got my dog after my sixth round of unsuccessful IVF. She is the closest thing I'll have to a child. 
I'll never understand why the "have"s feel the need to be cruel to the "have not"s.

Surely you can see that one thing is not related to the other?  I'm sorry you were unsuccesful with IVF.  That doesn't change the fact that it's a dog, and is nothing at all like a child.  This has nothing to do with the "haves" or "have-nots".  (Neither of which require an apostrophe)[/quote]

That makes a miserable person?  Maybe just bad vision.  You sound pretty miserable, the PP didn't say anything mean to you, in fact did say she was sorry about your unsuccessful treatments.

The PP completely missed my point and instead just doubled down on being rude, including correcting grammar that wasn’t incorrect.

I don’t call my dog my fur baby and I don’t think of her as I would a human child. I do love her though and she’s made my life wonderful. (Not miserable at all). My comment was a response to another which suggested having a bit more compassion toward people who might use silly terms of their pets. If you think a childless or lonely woman who calls her pet her fur baby is so pathetic, just ignore her and go spend time with your kids. Piling on people you think are tragic is just mean. [/quote]
