When a field is posted no dogs like at sully so you have to walk past the sign with your dog, then it is someone saying the rules don’t apply to me. When a parent yells at Ref when told not to, same thing When parents yell at each other cursing they break the law of society We have rules so people can get along. There are always people who don’t like the rules or don’t follow them. Dog lover no one cares that your dog wants to say hi. I love dogs. I don’t love your dog and when you tel me he is just friendly I don’t know you or your dog. I don’t walk up to strangers and lick them smell their crotch and then have my wife tell you I’m harmless. Just admit you are someone who intentionally doesn’t follow t rules. You are who you are. It’s not your dogs fault it’s yours
lol you should see me drive 5mph over the speed limit on all non-residential roads. Stop sign? Sure, stopping at about 1mph as I roll through when nobody else is present. "No skateboarding"? lol okay. I follow rules that have appropriate standing.
But you are being told that people don’t appreciate your dog. This is not a rule of “appropriate standing”, it is the rule. You don’t get to choose whether or not if it is appropriate or not. These rules are put in place not just for the potential behavior of your dog but also the fact that dogs crap and piss where they are when they need to do so and people don’t always bring bags to properly dispose of their waste. People don’t want to walk around dog crap while at a soccer field.
If you had authority, sure you could tell me what's in appropriate standing or not; since you don't of course I won't. To ask again, have you ever driven over the speed limit? Jaywalked? Since you have, taking your (hypocrite) opinion about something as a incidental as an unleashed dog would be unreasonable for any of us. But tell you what. People are breaking rules? Call a cop, and see how that goes.
Look, I'm with you on the unleashed dog in certain settings. If I'm walking in a huge wooded park early in the morning without a soul around, or in the middle of a large field (not athletic field) and I want to play some fetch, AND if I am extremely confident I have trained my dog's recall to be completely reliable no matter what, then I'll take him off leash too. In those situations, it is kind of like doing 10-15 mph over on 66 in light traffic. Yeah, technically it's against the law, but it's really a no harm no foul situation. If the dog warden shows up and wants to write me a ticket, I'll pay the fine. Around an athletic field at a soccer game or tournament is a different situation though. That's more like speeding through a residential neighborhood with kids playing all over the place.
