I assure you that money is not the base but it feels like I am being deceitful to hide things from them. It’s not like we have discussions about money but we have what I think are normal conversations about vacations, saving for college, helping age parents, refinancing a mortgage etc. And I have a hard time relating. So instead I just sit quiet while they all discuss it. It’s awkward for me and them. We all know why. And the subject is often changed to avoid it. I don’t know how rich you are and whether they would accept it, but if a friend suddenly became rich and told me they have everything taken care of and will be happy to contribute to my kid’s 529, I would be over the moon [/quote]
