Her 16 yr old daughter Max just came out as bisexual. To be honest, I am a little confused why kids feel the need to come out at all. I never came out and announced "You know what guys? I really love singing. I know you've never heard me sing, but I've noticed that my whole life any time I sing, it makes me happy. Y'al? I'm a singer!" Like sure, tell your parents, but why announce anything about sexuality publicly?
Because singing has always been normalized. No one ever wanted to murder or silence or harm or mock or ridicule someone for being a singer. The more people who stand up and say "I'm bisexual" or gay or trans or what have you, the more we see that it IS common, it IS people we already know and love in our community, it IS the girl next door who has babysat your kids and always been trustworthy and lovely. My aunt in a well-meaning way told my brother after he came out, "I've just never known a gay person before, so it takes some getting used to." And he said, "You've known a gay person since the first time you held me as a baby. You've known a gay person at every Thanksgiving and Christmas meal we've shared for 25 years. You've known a gay person when you picked me up from church camp and took me out to ice cream." And she started to cry, because in that moment, she got it.
 You’re not scripting a movie of the week in 1992. There are no swelling violins playing as you uh crafted this. Heather is a try-hard and her kids are under relentless pressure from their fameho parents to sell themselves, too.
