BRYC and FCV merger is a done deal.
Would be a big positive for both sides if true. FCV needs to move closer if they're going to have a sponsor and indoor training and BRYC needs something to shake them up and get some momentum. Anything that would have combines TSJ sponsorship and location with BRYC and some combo of SYC/LMVSC/VIVA/BAC/SCAA would be a welcomed collapsing at all levels of the programs.
What would any of those clubs listed bring to the table? SYC already partnered with McLean anyways.
I didn't mean to imply it would happen, although partnerships are broken all the time in this area, see Arlington/Mclean or Loudoun/FCV as recent examples. Only that increasing the player pool in general would more evenly distribute skill levels across a broader section of teams, resulting in those teams being more likely able to plan to play in leagues that are competitive. A greater number of teams for all of them across age groups creates a better ability for them to find the right level to play at and not have gaps where if 3 players on the top (or bottom) of a roster don't show up, the results are vastly different. It would allow for coaches to more effectively plan and conduct practices with similar skill levels, leading to better development and time with the kids.
These "mergers" are always better on paper than they are in real life.....
