Some high school teams are very competitive and very hard to make. Part of the problem in this area is that anybody can play "travel soccer". Your nephew probably would have been well-served playing rec, but everyone moves their kid to "travel" (whether they are good or not) because they want to brag to other parents.[/quote]

It’s really too bad that most DMV counties don’t have an organization like MSI that offers decent, affordable rec and rec+ options through HS. Clubs just have no real incentive to do better. [/quote]

We have county basketball in Fairfax, but no soccer equivalent. Suburban Friendship league could be that, but the clubs have no incentive to improve it [/quote]
