No.  -2.  How do we know he wasn't there to cause trouble?  People infiltrating protest groups to cause trouble happens quite a bit more than people realize, for example the Boogaloo Bois who have repeatedly been caught for arson, vandalism, violence, molotov cocktails, ambush attacks on police officers and attacks on police departments under the guise of "BLM/Antifa" - with notorious examples being the "Umbrella Man" in Minneapolis but also arrests in a half dozen other cities.  https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/28/us/umbrella-man-associated-white-supremacist-group-george-floyd/index.html

Andy Ngo has been caught on camera conspiring and joking around with Proud Boys and other violent extremist groups as they planned their own violence in Portland.  Yet he didn't report on any of those interactions...  because he's part of it.[/quote]

Are you kidding? The Proud Boys would use anyone as a means to an end. They had a Latino national leader who got kicked out in 2020 because he no longer ‘represented’ the face they wanted to portray. I’m sure he was shocked at the betrayal…

Couple of classic con mistakes in your post coming from your deep well of ignorance.

First, Democrats don’t support “antifa” (although we should be anti-fascist. It’s really only Republicans who embrace fascism) and antifa sure as shet doesn’t support the Democrats. If you’d ever personally known any actual far left people, you’d understand their derision for Democrats.

Second, “antifa” isn’t really a thing in the same way that right wing terrorists are. They’re not well coordinated. They’re not a monolith. And they don’t have big numbers. They also don’t have support from within any political party, whereas Andy Ngo and the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Bois, all sorts of domestic terrorists are coddled and supported by Republicans.

Ahead of the march, Wheeler also instructed police to intervene and stop “the self-described anarchist mob” from engaging in “criminal destruction” as he underscored the need for the community to stand together.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler minced no words in his opening remarks at a New Year’s Day press conference following a riot on New Year’s Eve in downtown.

Wheeler laid out the “who, what, when, where and why” of what happened Thursday.

“The who: violent antifa and anarchists,” the mayor said. They rampaged through downtown Portland causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage with spray painting, window breaking, fires and fireworks.

My good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence and even scorn from radical antifa and anarchists,” Wheeler said. “In response it will be necessary to use additional tools and to push the limits of the tools we already have to bring the criminal destruction and violence to an end.”

Wheeler said he is committing to 3 things:

“Federal, state, county and local law enforcement to convene to deal with anarchist violence. as soon as possible,” even next week.
Calling on state legislature to increase penalties for repeat offenders.

“I believe people convicted of criminal destruction be required to meet with those whose businesses they damaged,” Wheeler said, “and be required to do public service.”
