Do you have a (credible) source stating otherwise?
+1 This is what actual investigative media does.
+2 And note - he wasn’t setting anything on fire or destroying government buildings and businesses. He was there to document those who do. Good for him.
No. -2. How do we know he wasn't there to cause trouble? People infiltrating protest groups to cause trouble happens quite a bit more than people realize, for example the Boogaloo Bois who have repeatedly been caught for arson, vandalism, violence, molotov cocktails, ambush attacks on police officers and attacks on police departments under the guise of "BLM/Antifa" - with notorious examples being the "Umbrella Man" in Minneapolis but also arrests in a half dozen other cities. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/28/us/umbrella-man-associated-white-supremacist-group-george-floyd/index.html Also, Andy Ngo has previously been exposed for having rather cozy relationships with Proud Boys and other violent far right extremists and domestic terrorist (whom he does NOT do "investigative journalism" against) https://www.salon.com/2019/08/28/right-wing-journalist-andy-ngo-outed-video-shows-him-hanging-out-with-far-right-hate-group/
+1 He is 100% there to cause trouble and create a narrative, like the PP who said if rural people only listened to his drivel they’d think cities had burned to the ground. He’s an agent provocateur. He doesn’t “expose truth,” he’s committing crimes.
Andy Ngo has been caught on camera conspiring and joking around with Proud Boys and other violent extremist groups as they planned their own violence in Portland. Yet he didn't report on any of those interactions... because he's part of it.
But aren’t those groups completely racist and would never accept an Asian into their fold?
Are you kidding? The Proud Boys would use anyone as a means to an end. They had a Latino national leader who got kicked out in 2020 because he no longer ‘represented’ the face they wanted to portray. I’m sure he was shocked at the betrayal… https://www.insider.com/ousted-proud-boys-underling-attempts-white-supremacist-coup-2020-11
I was waiting for this response. So predictable. I know, Antifa are the good guys. Why they only want change!
Couple of classic con mistakes in your post coming from your deep well of ignorance. First, Democrats don’t support “antifa” (although we should be anti-fascist. It’s really only Republicans who embrace fascism) and antifa sure as shet doesn’t support the Democrats. If you’d ever personally known any actual far left people, you’d understand their derision for Democrats. Second, “antifa” isn’t really a thing in the same way that right wing terrorists are. They’re not well coordinated. They’re not a monolith. And they don’t have big numbers. They also don’t have support from within any political party, whereas Andy Ngo and the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Bois, all sorts of domestic terrorists are coddled and supported by Republicans. They don’t want change. They want to blow up the system. Do you ever get tired of believing you know anything? Do you never get frustrated that your media choices are keeping you stupid?
DP. Oh boy... once again, we’re treated to an utterly smug and sanctimonious ahole who feels qualified to lecture the rest of us on what antifa is and is not. I think I’ll just refer you to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, in his own words. And then you can go slither back to your pit of vipers. Ahead of the march, Wheeler also instructed police to intervene and stop “the self-described anarchist mob” from engaging in “criminal destruction” as he underscored the need for the community to stand together. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/04/24/ted-wheeler-portland-protests/ “The self-described anarchists who engage in regular criminal destruction don't want things to open up to recover," he said in a live video conference in April. "The city of Portland will not tolerate criminal destruction for violence ... for those who are involved in it let's make them hurt them a little bit." https://abcnews.go.com/US/year-protests-portland-residents-waning-patience-antifa/story?id=77511470 PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler minced no words in his opening remarks at a New Year’s Day press conference following a riot on New Year’s Eve in downtown. Wheeler laid out the “who, what, when, where and why” of what happened Thursday. “The who: violent antifa and anarchists,” the mayor said. They rampaged through downtown Portland causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage with spray painting, window breaking, fires and fireworks. My good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence and even scorn from radical antifa and anarchists,” Wheeler said. “In response it will be necessary to use additional tools and to push the limits of the tools we already have to bring the criminal destruction and violence to an end.” Wheeler said he is committing to 3 things: “Federal, state, county and local law enforcement to convene to deal with anarchist violence. as soon as possible,” even next week. Calling on state legislature to increase penalties for repeat offenders. “I believe people convicted of criminal destruction be required to meet with those whose businesses they damaged,” Wheeler said, “and be required to do public service.” https://www.koin.com/local/multnomah-county/wheeler-ppb-chief-to-hold-virtual-press-conference/
Np- this guy has been over his head for quite a while now with no end in sight. Not exactly a good source.
Sorry, what? The WaPo, ABC News, and a local Portland affiliate aren’t “good sources”? Someone is certainly in over their head - but it’s not Ngo.
