You are really hitting hyperbole with”serious childhood trauma”. He says he was funny and then he wasn’t, but drinking made him funny before. That doesn’t sound like he was traumatized. Just lacking confidence and unfortunately, predisposed to addiction.[/quote]

It doesn’t have to be typical, but let’s not pretend it doesn’t happen. It’s what he said happened. Until he changes his account, why not accept that he probably isn’t hiding a childhood priest rape story or some other dark trauma.[/quote]
