I would personally go with Moderna because it was tested on a more diverse group of people and because I trust a public-private collaboration (Moderna- Ih) more than a purely private effort (BIONTECH-Pfizer). That said, Dr. Katalin Kariko who developed the technology works for BioNTech and they were the first to patent the tech, which Moderna then licensed. So, OP, they truly are very similar.[/quote]
