This entire thread should be deleted.
Why? MSI is a huge local program and their spectator policy impacts many. And it is the outlier not only locally but nationally. They did announce that they expect to update the policy today so change is coming.
I’m sure you are aware that MSI completely follows MoCo’s direction since they use the majority of all MoCo local park and school soccer fields. If you want to b1tch, then directed it at MoCo.
I'm sure you are aware that's not entirely true, that some policies were beyond the county rules, and that MSI had the ability to submit spectator plans and get additional approvals, and that some of those steps were not taken initially but then have been more actively over the past week or two. You probably also think MSI's mask rule from the fall was the county. Now it is, of course, but not in the fall. That was MSI decision. The organization has some role even within the county's ridiculous crusade on outdoor youth activities that has no basis in science. At least MSI now allows a ball to be touched by a hand or head and not wiped down every 5 seconds (which nobody was doing anyways).
Sounds like you should leave MSI unless your DC is not talented enough to join FCGB, Potomac, BSC or other MoCo clubs. LOL
+1. Many parents love the MSI’s mask rule. Kids didn’t complain, it’s always the parents. My DD is with Potomac and all of her teammates wear masks to all games & practices. No issues at all.
