I'm just up Route 1 in Hyattsville, but I really want a good excuse to get to Pennyroyal without making my partner's dieting any harder.  Alas, pandemic has sort of killed meeting up with friends, but everything on that menu looks so good that I nearly printed it out for a snack.

I think the greater Route 1 area is awesome, but I definitely think that Pennyroyal fills gap of nicer restaurant.  Not like Michelin star restaurants, but just nicer neighbor place for brunch, dinner, and cocktails.   There are a lot of great places to eat, but they're usually more on  casual end of things, like 2Fifty BBQ, Taqueria La Placita, or Northwest Chinese.  MtR., Hyattsville, Riverdale, and College Park is are much more comfortable for me than the Bethesda to Rockville corridor- mostly in terms of traffic.[/quote]
