So I’m referring to the early commits to “big schools” that our statical expert keeps mentioning. I don’t know how it can be argued that having that experience doesn’t make you look more attractive in a pond of highlight videos & emails these big time coaches get on a daily basis. Obviously the kids that show an interest in that school will get a early follow up look. I mean why wouldn’t a recruiter put that player on the top of their list to check out? These players must perform when they get that look. So obviously those kids are performing well. I just find it unrealistic that of all the soccer players in the DMV- ecnl & ga (whatever) so many have come from the same team. Not buying the “superior” individual talent on the same team and never will.
Correct, and it boils down to what is your clubs Director or coach doing to support your child to be seen? If that Director is lazy and doesn’t have the connections to get you seen and help with making your child’s portfolio enticing or they can’t get that D1 college solidified for your player then that’s not a club you want your kid at. As a parent I would be looking at current club commits and compare. Ask yourself why hasn’t the majority of the team committed, to what top colleges have those girls been able to break into. It’s really seeing how committed the program is to the girls in the program. This happens by getting the players seen, pushing them to the NTC to build there portfolios and developing a great training program that is fast paced to support their development for when they are seen. Again, we can say all we want but FCV 04 class just proved how great Bobby is at getting those girls seen and recruited. Plus everyone wants to say that FCV has a big influence at getting those girls seen for the NTC, this is true however another club in the area has one of the biggest influences on it as well and for some reason that hasn’t helped that club in the slightest. My point? Go where there’s proof of commitments and getting girls to the next level.
Beating up on bad competition, game film that gives a false sense of how good players are. Easier to be recruited during Covid via film when you are playing against weak teams
Excuses, Covid showed who has those top connections. Colleges listen to those they trust. Of course the player has to deliver but with a flick of a wrist any coach should be able to advocate for their player, make a phone call and have a profound impact on the DDs recruiting experience, especially now through Covid.
