I'm hoping after a chunk of time off he'll be amenable. At least this show runner didn't jump to immediately killing him off. If Shonda had issues with Patrick Dempsey, she should have exiled his character to DC after a divorce. Thus leaving the door open years down the road for a return. But that ship has sailed. Anyway I like work- and family-focused Meredith so much better. She was so annoying when pining after a boy.
