DC is much less appealing now with remote work, no IPL, and far away from childcare help from family. So many who could leave already have, and many more will over the summer. Of course, no one really cares about the rich white people leaving again, except all the developers who will be stuck with empty expensive real estate.
Won't other rich white people just move in? Maybe ones without kids? I don't know what churn looks like in the rich end of the income distribution.
DP. Sure they'll move into Logan and other fun areas, but childless couples aren't buying our SFH's in UNW. This failure to fully reopen schools is really a stain on the Mayor, and she's to blame as much as WTU. She could have reopened sooner and more fully, building confidence in DCPS and making her city even more valuable. Instead, many are fleeing DCPS when she had the opportunity to attract more families by keeping schools open.
