School has been open all year. School buildings have not. If you want school to function similar to it has in the past vax the teachers and don't tell teachers shoulda woulda coulda to them. See the Simulcast thread - parents now complaining kids in person are still on screens and having a crap time - yeah well dead teachers don't teach DL or IPL so this is what you get. Demand CDC change their PPE and distance guidance to all the teachers screaming "science".
Repeating this talking point ad nauseam doesn't make it any more true. "Open schools", in any rational discussion about this, still means that kids are able to enter schools and being taught in person by teachers. Only teachers unions are trying to redefine the word "open" to suit their agenda.
Uh wouldn't that be parents? Grocery stores are still considered open even if they just deliver, same thing with any store providing ONLINE services. School is online, the service is still being provided. The only ones who have a legal leg to stand on is parents with kids who have more than 5 hours outside of gen ed in their IEP. There's no legal amount of hours children must be taught only days, which are being given online, in person, or both. Repeating you hate teacher honestly means nothing at this point too, nor does screaming open schools cause science. Obviously the 'science' is not compelling enough because many schools in the US are online or hybrid.
