I cannot for the life of me imagine why any self-respecting adult would become a teacher in this day and age. The educational system is failing because of selfish, entitled parents who can’t/don’t want to deal with their own (and ONLY their own) children but expect a teacher to bow to their every demand and cater to their every whim (x30+) for a pittance, all while being continually mocked and insulted by the aforementioned entitled “parents”. Maybe stop treating teachers like your personal hired help instead of the trained professionals that they are, and see if things start to improve.
When they act like professionals, we will treat them as such. Every year all they want is to do less work for more money and more days off. When I was a kid I can remember going entire school years without having a sub once the entire year. Prior to Covid, my kids had subs all.the.time. They get way more snow days now than we did back then too. Feedback is non-existent.
