I cannot for the life of me imagine why any self-respecting adult would become a teacher in this day and age. The educational system is failing because of selfish, entitled parents who can’t/don’t want to deal with their own (and ONLY their own) children but expect a teacher to bow to their every demand and cater to their every whim (x30+) for a pittance, all while being continually mocked and insulted by the aforementioned entitled “parents”. Maybe stop treating teachers like your personal hired help instead of the trained professionals that they are, and see if things start to improve.
Yeah, I sometimes wonder myself. I tried to do other jobs, but this is the only one I ever found real joy in. It is harder to summon it up through DL, but I still manage some glimmers. I just wish this community would stop fighting each other and work stuff out. This isn’t healthy - all this back and forth blaming. It certainly doesn’t help the kids. Stop listening to the extremists like FEA lady and Dr. Gloria (i am sorry but that lady’s policy is and has always been “Do the least amount of work possible.”). Persuade the board NICELY to your point of view. Stop acting so unhinged.
