I have both human children and a dog, and I don't think it is odd at all to say "dog mom."

At the vet, they address me as "Tillie's mom." The neighborhood children, who love to play with Tillie, call me "Tillie's mom."

I am both "Tillie's mom" and "Larla and Larlo's mom."
