Exactly.  It's suburbia.  "Coo-coo" bird notwithstanding, you children have a significantly greater chance of being killed on the highway in the suburbs than they do in an urban environment.  As PP says, "how else are you going to get home?"  I'll walk home, take a bus, train, or $10 cab ride.  [/quote]

right because there are no drunk drivers in DC. The roads are like a ghost town on weekend nights and the place with tumbleweeds during happy hour. I mean last time I was in Adams Morgan, nobody and I mean NOBODY was in their car let alone drunk.[/quote]

its a lot harder to get a DUI in DC.  I certainly tried.  Easier to spot weaving in the burbs.[/quote]

I saw the worst drunk crash of my life in DC. Someone right in front of us got in a major accident, the car looked like it was in a pinball machine.  SOMEHOW a passenger managed to get thrown out of the back window.  The bloodied body lay crumpled in the middle of the road.  It was 2AM, people were everywhere, I'm sure 95% of the people, including drivers were silly drunk.[/quote]
