i was the guy the originally stated that Tommy has done some really good stuff with the club since he took over. I opted not to take the bait when someone wanted it listed and explained. If you dont already know you arent going to listen to what I have to say.
I'm the person who asked and it wasn't "bait." My child plays travel for Alexandria but is young, so I have no idea what the club was like before Tommy or what he did in comparison to other clubs. Not everything is a trap, and not everyone's life revolves around following travel soccer. Grow up.
The rec program was a lot better and more competitive pre-Tommy. Today, the clubs red teams should get kids onto their HS teams, but all the other ASA teams are still playing rec level soccer at travel prices. The focus over the years has been about developing expensive programs. These programs get the priority and the more affordable options are neglected.
Did you say the rec program was more competitive? Rec is fun, some limited competition and either a pathway to play more challenging games in travel for instance or simply just to test a kids interest in the game and let them enjoy learning the basics. Competitive is not the term I would affix to any Rec program The most hungry competitive player types opt for travel. You can even see a difference between top team club players on a travel squad and the second and third team. The hunger to excel and compete is clearly more obvious in top team players. Doesnt mean the other kids dont compete its just not as much a driving force. If it was they would train more, longer, harder and make the top team where their talent and hunger will be further challenged.
