I don't think this is accurate.  The DA clubs (except Loudoun) did not charge much more than regular travel and the price included two annual events + an extra night of training each week.  I never felt I was subsidising MLS clubs - just getting a higher level of competition for my DS.[/quote]

DA was run by US Soccer. 
MLS is run by MLS.

This is simply not an answer.  It is a total non sequitur.  We know it's not a charity.  That doesn't mean the non-MLS clubs are subsidizing the MLS academies.  And if your reasoning were sound, that money is the sole driver of either the youth league or structure, you need to explain why they simply don't take everybody who applied.  And if you are suggesting that non-charity status is unique to MLS Next, identify how ECNL or other leagues are charitable, or their constituent clubs.  Otherwise I think we can continue to think you are FOS.[/quote]
