[/quote] Yes, what many newer residents don't understand is just HOW bad crime was in their current neighborhoods. Some get outright hostile when the seriousness of the past crime issue is mentioned which I attribute to them not wanting to consider that things can get that way again with a downturn to the economy. But I guess if I paid those prices for my home I would want to bury my head in the sand too. DC resident since the 80s that has lived in SW, NE and NW.[/quote]
