Someone in our neighborhood organized a food pick up for anyone interested, from a black owned restaurant in DC. I ordered dinner for my family. The food was supposed to be ready at 5:30 - it wasn’t ready until 7:30, one of my items was missing, and the food we got wasn’t very good. So no, I will not be choosing based upon the race of the owner. Didn’t really go well for us.
In the middle of the pandemic I ordered food from the Cheesecake Factory (not a fan, but the kid wanted it), food showed up 2 hours late, was cold, 2 of the items were missing, french fries and the cheese cake. I called to complain, was told buy the white girl who answered the phone and the white manager, that it wasn't their fault, blamed it on the delivery driver, said they probably ate the food. When I suggested that perhaps, due to the unusual circumstances that they made a mistake, they replied no, not us. Blamed, their incompetence on the delivery guy who just so happened to be black, and apparently a thief. You would think that the big corporate guys, with the resources to hire/retain competent staff, would have been able to figure out how to get it right, but no. Just a bunch of incompetent idiots.
